HMO’s: 2012 Ends in Deficit; Situation to Worsen

Israel’s government-subsidized HMO’s have announced that 2012 will end with a deficit of NIS 861 million, compared to the NIS 1,259 million deficit of 2011.  Projections indicate a deepening of the deficit in the upcoming year.

In a report issued today (Tuesday) by the Ministry of Health, the decline in the deficit is explained by the financial support received for 2011-2012 in 2012, and following the delay of signing the stabilizing financial support agreements for 2011-2013, which were only signed off on in December of 2012.
