Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday-morning trading with modest gains. Just over an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,154.20, up .66 percent, while the TA 100 rose .64 percent to 1,149.78, including a gain of .77 percent to 1,274.66 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,079.32, up 1.17 percent.
Leading the was the biomed index, which climbed 1.4 percent to 1,013.40, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 334.19, up .67 percent. The communications stocks advanced to 1.13 percent to 785.85, while the oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,288.63, up .82 percent. The same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,224.07 for the bank issues as the financial institutions gained .74 percent to 1,198.41, including a rise of three tenths of a percent to 1,459.33, and the real-estate index stood at 365.62, up .13 percent.
