Minister of Economy, Naftali Bennett does not understand why every economic action he tries to effect elicits complaints and claims from Israelis that these are at the expense of Israel’s security considerations.
Recently, on his Facebook page, Bennett wrote, “Every time we update the course of any social or economic procedure (e.g. conditions for contracted cleaning employees, standardizations, the Cement law, et al), there are always those who turn to me with something like, “It’s fine you’re taking care of prices and all, but right now Tzipi Livni is giving away Israel to the Palestinian Authority, and you do nothing about it…and this is a million times more important than the Standards Institute…”
Bennett’s response to this is, “(1) Nobody is giving away the Land of Israel tomorrow; (2) I am constantly in touch with the matter. I’m a member of the Cabinet, and I’m well-informed; and (3) There are many other considerations other than political or settlement related ones.”
