Nurse Dana Ben Meir, one of three people convicted in the abuse of helpless patients at the Kfar Shaul-Eitanim psychiatric hospital in the Judean Hills, was sentenced by the Jerusalem District Court, Monday, to nine months in prison, with an 18-month suspended sentence and a fine of 15,000 shekels. Doctor Daniel Meir, who managed the closed adult department where she worked, was sentenced to six months, to be carried out in community service, also with an 18-month suspended sentence and a 15,000-shekel fine. Both were convicted of abuse.
Hospital Manager Ya'akov Margolin was sentenced to 400 hours of community service and was given a nine-month suspended sentence and a 10,000-shekel fine on his conviction for neglecting those in his charge. The three were convicted in December on charges relating to abuse at the facility between 2001 and 2004.
