Education Minister Shai Piron announced, Monday morning, that Michal Cohen a senior deputy executive officer at the ministry will succeed Dalit Stauber as chief executive officer. Stauber announced, Sunday that she is leaving at the end of October.
Cohen manages the ministry's Pedagogic Administration. She has overseen the implementation of the Oz Letmura (Courage for Exchange) reform at the secondary-school level, the Ofek Hadash reform at the kindergarten and elementary level and free education for three and four-year-olds, among other reforms. Subject to the approval of the Civil Service Commission and the cabinet, she will take over on November 1st.
