MK Levin: If PM Calls for Disengagement, I’ll Resign

Chairman of the Coalition, MK Yariv Levin, announced that he will resign his position should Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu promote a peace settlement that provides for the evacuation of Jewish communities.

In an interview with the newspaper Al-Monitor, Levin stated, “If, G-d forbid, there is a move toward another disengagement, I will resign my position.”

Levin admits that he does not know Netanyahu’s true intentions in his talks with Mahmoud Abbas. “I do not know if he making a political move or not – I have no indication of this. I have been following things, but my position is clear: We are in favor of negotiations with no pre-conditions.  Until this point, the Prime Minister has stayed with that, except regarding the release of the terrorist prisoners. Additionally, the results must lead to a strengthening of the area’s communities, not handing them over,” he said.
