Shwekey Dedicates Song to Slain Soldier

Hasidic singer Ya'akov Shwekey moved the audience to tears, Monday, when he capped a concert outside the Me'arat Hamachpelah Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron with the first performance in Hebrew of his song Tateh, Tateh (Yiddish for father), which tells the story of a Jew praying inside the holy site. Shwekey dedicated the song to the memory of First Sergeant Gavriel "Gal" Kobi, who was killed by a sniper's bullet nearby on Sunday evening.

An estimated 30,000 people visited the city, starting in the morning.
