Spokesman No'am Arnon of the Hevron Jewish community said, Friday, that preparations have been completed for the community's Sukkot (Tabernacles) holiday events, scheduled for Sunday and Monday. The focus is on a concert scheduled for Monday, which will feature the first time that hasidic music star Ya'akov Shwekey will be appearing in the one-time capital of King David.
Arnon and Chief Executive Officer Uri Karzen of Hevron Jewish Community Renewal said, "It is a privilege for us all to hear Yaakov Shwekey sings the song 'Tateh, tateh" [Yiddish for "Father, Father" -ed.] which tells of Jewish prayers at the Me'arat Hamachelah [Cave of the Patriarchs], for the first time at the foot of Me'arat Hamachpelah.The song will connect all the tens of thousands of Jews who will participate in the show with the merits of the forefathers and foremothers." Appearing on the same stage will be first-class entertainers Yaniv Ben Mashiach, Yishai Lapidot , Mendi Jerufi, Matti Shriki and the Pirchei Yisrael band.
