The bi-annual mass birkat kohanin, or priestly blessing will take place Sunday, September 22nd at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The ceremony takes place on the intermediate days of Sukkot and Passover. Any Jewish person with kohain lineage is invited to join thousands of others in reciting the Biblical blessing. Thousands will be in attendance to watch. Kohanim, usually translated as priests, are descendants of Aaron, the brother of Moses the first kohain. The priestly blessing comes toward the end of the Sukkot morning prayer services which will be approximately at 9:15 am and again at 10:15am. The Chief Rabbis of Israel will be in attendance as well.
