Supreme Court Blasted as Out of Touch with S. Tel Aviv

Member of Knesset Miri Regev (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu) slammed the Supreme Court decision regarding infiltrators on Tuesday, as being out  of touch with the demographic reality. MK Regev said she respects all decisions handed down by the Supreme Court but related that she "does not know if the judges see south Tel Aviv and the level of crime there. The Supreme Court decision ignores the social and demographic reality." MK Regev made the comments at a meeting of the Knesset Interior Committee, which she heads.  On Monday, the Supreme Court struck down a 2013 law enabling illegal infiltrators to be jailed up to three years. The law was originally enacted to deal with the unprecedented mass influx of foreigners who suck through the southern border. Many now live in public parks  and on the streets of south Tel Aviv, leading residents to complain.
