Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest losses at the start of Tuesday trading. About 50 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,116.68, down .38 percent from Monday's close, while the TA 100 declined .37 percent to 1,111.96, including a drop of .34 percent to 1,226.18 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,041.52, down .47 percent.
On the positive side, the communications index rose .24 percent to 723.35, followed by the bank issues, which stood at 1,186.97, up .23 percent as the financial institutions slipped .09 percent to 1,166.89, reflecting a loss of .66 percent to 1,427.66 by the insurance stocks. The real-estate index stood at 360.26, up .04 percent, while the oil and natural-gas issues lost .18 percent to 1,236.49. The biomed stocks stood at 965.99, down .92 percent, while the rest of the technology index fell .48 percent to 318.69.
