On Tuesday, October 22nd, municipal council elections will be held country-wide in 191 communities. According to the Ministry of Interior, there are 5,469,041 eligible voters who will qualify to vote.
Of these voters, 553,668 will be exercising their right to vote for the first time in the municipal elections. Of these voters, 198,846 will be voting for the first time (those who weren't eligible to vote in the last Knesset elections).
In municipal elections, unlike the Knesset elections, one only needs to be 17 years old to vote.
