Following Sunday's moderate gains, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange welcomed international traders, Monday morning, with modest advances. About 40 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,124.02, up .57 percent, while the TA 100 rose .56 percent to 1,118.44, including a rise of .51 percent to 1,232.09 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,059.79, up .73 percent.
The same percentage increase meant postings of 1,435.19 for the insurance index, 1,171.08 for the financial institutions and 360.10 for the real-estate issues. Leading the gainers were the communications stocks, which climbed 1.79 percent to 716.31, followed by the oil and natural-gas index, which stood at 1,246.29, up .62 percent. Most of the technology issues rose .52 percent to 325.02, while the biotechnology stocks stood at 975.98, up .45 percent, and the bank index advanced .35 percent to 1,186.95.
