Immigration Absorption Minister Sofa Landver (Likud-Yisrael Beyteinu) angrily left a conference in Paris on the status of women on Thursday, after she was not allowed to respond to harsh criticism leveled at Israel by a Palestinian Authority minister.
The PA’s Minister of Women's Affairs claimed that Israel has no right to talk about women's rights as long as it suppresses the human rights of PA Arabs. Landver then asked to be given an opportunity to respond to the accusations, but the chairwoman of the meeting, the French Minister of Women's Affairs, refused to allow Landver to respond.
Landver then grabbed the microphone and began to speak, but the French Minister instructed that the sound system be turned off. In response, Landver angrily left the conference.
