Shekel, Dollar Down; Yen Outpaces Pound, Euro

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .14 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.564, down .028 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .252 percent to 4.7379 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.6365 shekels, up .292 percent, while 100 Japanese yen climbed .852 percent to NIS 3.5859. The Canadian dollar advanced .099 percent to 3.452 shekels, while its Australian counterpart fell .632 percent to NIS 3.296, and the South African Rand was fixed at .3587 shekels, down .139.
