Housing Minister Uri Ariel (Bayit Yehudi - National Union) and Dov Kalmanovitz visited the Temple Mount, considered Judaism's holiest site on Wednesday in Jerusalem. During the tour fellow visitor Ariel Cohen raised his hands and recited the Birkat Kohanim, or Priestly Blessing. Open prayer at the site is forbidden by the Muslim Waqf except for Muslim prayers. Kalmanovitz is running for Jerusalem City Council with the Bayit Yehudi party. He is considered the first terrorist victim of the first intifada in 1998, suffering sever burns after an explosion.
