Chairman of the Knesset Agriculture Lobby Zevulun Kalpa (Jewish Home) says he does not understand how the benefits being offered to farmers in other regions of the country are being denied to those in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
The Finance Committee today (Tuesday) unanimously approved the order to establish certain beneifts in order to encourage capital investment into agricultural ventures in development areas, that had been brought in and signed last week by Finance Minister Yair Lapid. However, Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley were not included in the areas.
“How is it possible”, MK Kalpa asked, “that Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, which are filled with farms and crops, receive no grants or tax benefits under this order? If farmers in Samaria, who pay taxes like all Israeli citizens, do not get anything - maybe they should stop paying taxes", he said.
