Shock at PA Squatters in Hevron's Beit HaMachpela

The Land of Israel Lobby expressed "shock" at the discovery of Palestinian Authority residents living in the yard of the Beit HaMachpela complex in Hevron. In 2012 the Supreme Court ruled that the contested property was legitimately purchased and legally owned by Jewish families. However the Defense Ministry ordered the Jewish residents to vacate the premises until the final ruling on the ownership dispute.

On Tuesday, visitors on a pre-Yom Kippur tour discovered that PA residents had moved into the courtyard adjascent to the three-story building. The Lobby said the longer the legal proceedings drag on, the more PA residents will attempt to move in.
