The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday morning trading with modest to moderate gains. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,094.97, up .76 percent from Monday's close, while the TA 100 rose .81 percent to 1,089.36, including a nine-tenths-of-a-percent gain to 1,190.46 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,025.03, up .64 percent.
Leading the way was the bank index, which climbed 1.53 percent to 1,127.57 as the financial institutions stood at 1,119.85, up 1.41 percent, including an advance of 1.37 percent to 1,377.61 by the insurance issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,202.87, up 1.48 percent, followed by the real-estate index, which gained 1.28 percent to 349.27. The biomed issues stood at 969.98, up .74 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks rose .54 percent to 327.16 and the communications index stood at 686.32, up .56 percent.
