According to Shabak (Israel Security Agency) sources, August of this year saw 99 terror attacks, an increase over the 82 attacks in July. The main increase was in the Judea and Samaria regions, which saw an increase to 68 in August, over the 60 incidents in July.
Other areas held their numbers: the Gaza Strip saw five attacks and Sinai saw one attack, as in July. Jerusalem noted a slight decrease with 26 attacks in August, as opposed to 25 in July.
The incident of note was the launching August 22nd launch of rockets from Lebanon at Israel (no casualties).
One Israeli was lightly wounded as a result of a firebomb attack (August 20) at Herod's Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.
