Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday morning trading with modest losses. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,092.77, down a quarter of a percent, while the TA 100 declined .27 percent to 1,087.83, including a drop of .34 percent to 1,186.09 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,005.61, down .39 percent.
The lone positive index was oil and natural gas, which edged up .09 percent to 1,207.68. Insurance issues were virtually unchanged at 1,394.23 as the financial institutions slipped .04 percent to 1,135.77, including a loss of .12 percent to 1,141.00 by the bank stocks. Most of the technology index stood at 324.53, down .21 percent, while the biomed issues declined three tenths of a percent to 968.31. The real-estate stocks stood at 352.47, down .59 percent, and the communications index fell 1.89 percent to 657.00
