Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to sharp gains in early Thursday trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,077.81, up .39 percent, while the TA 100 rose four tenths of a percent to 1,073.95, including an advance of .38 percent to 1,169.16 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 981.02, up .56 percent.
Leading the way was the communications index, which rose 2.74 percent to 669.42, followed by the insurance issues, which stood at 1,343.13, up 1.33 percent, as the financial institutions gained .96 percent to 1,099.99, including a rise of 1.15 percent to 1,113.51 by the bank stocks. The biomed index rose .82 percent to 966.13 while the rest of the technology issues slipped .15 percent to 319.92. The oil and gas stocks stood at 1,182.96, up .24 percent, and the same percentage gain meant a posting of 349.73 for the real-estate index.
