The IDF Home Front Command has asked the public not to open their gas mask kits. The kits have an expiration date and are to be used only in the event of an emergency. Some citizens have been inspecting their kits to ensure that Atropine, a drug used to counteract nerve gas is included. Those unfamiliar with gas mask kits may be tempted to open up the kits and try the gas masks on. The Home Front Command has issued instructions not to do so. In the event of an emergency, the pubic will be asked to carry their gas mask kits with them to work and school. In the event of an actual gas attack, nationwide public announcements will be made to wear gas masks.
