Egypt: Erdogan is a Man with No Religious Culture

Tensions between Cairo and Ankara were intensified by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s siding with the Muslim Brotherhood.

In Cairo, the presidential spokesman said yesterday (Tuesday) that Erdogan was a man of no religious culture, and that it would be better if he kept quiet.

Erdogan had criticized Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the grand imam of Al-Azhar, for his support of steps taken by the new Egyptian government.
