Most of the indices at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange recorded modest losses in early Monday trading. About 35 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,094.96, down .42 percent, while the TA 100 declined .46 percent to 1,089.96, including a drop of .52 percent to 1,192.27 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,021.08, up .13 percent.
Worst hit was the communications index, which fell .97 percent to 686.32, followed by the bank issues, which stood at 1,127.67, down .81 percent, as the financial institutions lost .71 percent to 1,114.75, including a decline of .65 percent to 1,354.44 by the insurance stocks. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,229.55, down .46 percent, while the real-estate issues slumped .38 percent to 357.16. Most of the technology stocks stood at 322.36, down .15 percent, while the biomed index slipped .13 percent to 988.14.
