No Polio Vaccinations at Schools, Decides Health Min.

The Ministry of Health announced on Friday afternoon that it had decided not to vaccinate children entering grades 1 to 3 against the polio virus in their schools, and instead to concentrate the resources that have been allocated for the polio vaccine operation at the Tipat Halav clinics around the country.

The decision was made in the wake of a recommendation received by the Ministry and which said that giving the vaccine to students in schools will not achieve the target of increasing the vaccination coverage nor will it shorten the length of time required for the vaccination operation.
