Shekel Down; Euro Outpaces Pound, Dollar, Yen

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .191 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.588, up .028 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .344 percent to 4.7893 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.6004 shekels, up .288 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .204 percent to NIS 3.6256. The Australian dollar edged up .081 percent to 3.227 shekels while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.4016, down half a percent, and the South African rand climbed 1.443 percent to .3516 shekels.
