Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority (PA) said, Thursday, that there were no developments in negotiations between the PA and Israel, according to Channel 10 Television. It was his first public comment on the talks.
Addressing a delegation of Knesset members from the Meretz party, he said, "I am not optimistic but hope for the best." He made it clear that he opposed temporary solutions and would only sign a complete agreement. At the same time, he said he would agree to implement an agreement in what he called two phases.
