The Israel Defense Forces said, Thursday afternoon, that three rockets were fired at the area between Akko and Nahariya, just south of the Lebanese border. One of them was intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system and none of them touched down in Israeli territory. Fragments found in the area are believed to be from Iron Dome anti-missile missiles.
Spokesman Yoav Mordechai said the IDF views the attack as an isolated incident and attributed it to global jihad. He announced the closing of the Haifa-area air corridor, adding there was no specific intelligence information behind the decision.
