On his continuing trip to South America, Deputy Foreign Minister MK Zeev Elkin (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu) almost ran into a riot. During a tour of Brazil's capital city of Brasilia, MK Elkin and his staff ran into stormy demonstrations related to internal struggles regarding the Brazilian constitution. The Deputy Minister was safely escorted out of the way of the demonstrators.
He met with Brazilian officials to discuss how Israel and the South American country can work together and learn form each other. He also toured poorer neighborhoods to learn about municipality rehabilitation programs.
