Ban: Lack of Building Freeze Reduces Chance of Peace

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations expressed concern, Thursday evening, over continued Jewish construction beyond the 1949 cease-fire line.

Speaking at a news conference with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, he stressed that the lack of a building freeze would reduce the chances of peace and make the two-state solution impossible. He added that it was possible to reach the two-state solution through negotiations.
