Egyptian news outlets are reporting that the army has arrested leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood during a dispersal of protesters Wednesday in the capital city of Cairo. The demonstrators were Muslim Brotherhood supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi. The Egyptian Interior Ministry has not yet responded to queries as to whom exactly has been detained. The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 and has advocated pan-Arab political activism. Hamas was founded in Gaza in 1987 out of Muslim Brotherhood affiliated associations.
