A special committee is scheduled to meet today to approve the release of 26 Palestinian Arab terrorists who are presently in Israeli prisons. This is a political gesture on the eve of the second round of negotiations, which are due to start in Jerusalem, this Wednesday. Due to the Prime Minister’s surgery, the meeting will be chaired by Minister of Defense, Moshe Alon.
Senior government officials stated yesterday that after this week’s release of the terrorists, it is PM Netanyahu’s intention to demand that following this round of prisoner-release,, these terrorists will be forbidden to return to Judea and Samaria, or they will be forcibly removed. Subsequent to the list approval, 48 hours will be allotted in which to file petitions with the Supreme Court.
