Trains May Run Despite New Threat of Driver's Strike

A wildcat strike was feared to force the cancellation of about 80 trains on Thursday. However a compromise may be worked out between employees and management at Israel Railways. Employees are upset over wage disputes and management arrangements. Disruptions were caused on Wednesday. Although not an official labor dispute, a large amount of drivers threatened to call in sick on Thursday. The Labor Court of Tel Aviv was scheduled to discuss the matter on Thursday. A labor court judge suggested that if Israel Railways management does not believe a driver is truly sick, the driver can submit a doctor's note.
