Knesset Finance Comm. to Discuss Bank of Israel Saga

The continuing "saga" surrounding the appointment of a new governor for the Bank of Israel has prompted the Knesset's Finance Committee to call a special meeting for this coming Tuesday, despite it being the parliamentary summer break.

Committee head MK Nissan Slomiansky (Bayit Yehudi) said that he fears that the nomination saga will simply go on and on, because potential candidates who are economists of the first order, will refuse to have their name mentioned in connection with the post, for fear of being burned in the media over  trivialities that have been dug up in their past history.
