Hikers Attacked by Arabs are Arrested by Border Police

Five Jewish hikers who were attacked by Arabs in the Binyamin region, Wednesday afternoon were detained for questioning instead of the Arabs, according to the Honenu legal-aid organization. Security personnel from area Jewish communities, who joined Border Guards in coming to the hikers rescue, said they were also attacked by the Arabs, who rioted on a nearby highway.

After talking to the rioters to calm things down, the Border Police accepted their version of being the ones who were attacked and suggested they file a complaint. The hikers were taken to the Sha'ar Binyamin police station for questioning.
