Acting Bank of Israel Governor Resigns

Acting Governor Karnit Flug of the Bank of Israel announced, Wednesday, that she intends to resign from the bank, following the announcement that Professor Leonardo Leiderman had been nominated to succeed Professor Stanley Fischer as governor. She wished Professor Leiderman much success.

Doctor Flug was deputy governor under Fischer. If Leiderman's nomination is confirmed and her resignation is accepted, her 25-year career at the bank will come to an end after she takes about a month to assist the new governor to take office and learn the system.
