Gun Control Sought Following Jerusalem Shootings

Public Security Minister MK Yitzhak Aharonovich (Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu) will review the criteria necessary to own a firearm. He made the comments at a Knesset session of firearm ownership on Wednesday.

In the past month there have been several shooting attacks, not related to the ongoing conflict with terrorists. One such incident was the murder of a lawyer and his daughter due to a monetary dispute. The other was the shooting of a worshiper at the Western Wall who was killed by an angry security guard.

Currently measures such as psychological testing, medical testing and firearm safety classes are a part of gun ownership, however Aharonovich is now calling for stricter guidelines.
