Member of Knesset Yoni Chetboun (Bayit Yehudi - National Union) spoke with the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday morning and requested that voting be delayed.
He urged the delay in order to fulfill his promise to attend a military ceremony for fallen soldiers of the Second Lebanon War. Bereaved families had asked him to speak at a special ceremony at Mount Adir.
MK Chetboun is a veteran of the 2006 conflict and was awarded a special citation by the IDF for his actions at the Battle of Bint Jbeil.
Wednesday will be the last day of the Knesset session this season before the start of summer recess. Two important votes are being held one for the raising of the electoral threshold and one for the Referendum Law on territorial compromise.
