Electric Company Workers Threaten Stronger Sanctions

A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in the Haifa Labor Court on an attempt by the Israel Electric Company to block an intensification in sanctions by its employees. The employees announced the stronger sanctions, Monday evening, but management was able to convince the court to block the sanctions from taking effect pending the results of the hearing.

The employees are fighting reforms at the utility. They responded to the ruling by saying they will act on the basis of a previous ruling, under which they do not have to advance reforms.
