The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened, Monday, with modest losses in mixed trading. About 40 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,113.72, down .02 percent, while the same percentage decline meant a posting of 1,110.57 for the TA 100, including a tenth-of-a-percent drop to 1,226.73 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 995.17, up a tenth of a percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which climbed 1.15 percent to 647.29, followed by most of the technology issues, which stood at 322.50, up .28 percent, while the biomed stocks rose .21 percent to 874.51. The insurance index stood at 1,399.71, up .17 percent, as the financial institutions lost .11 percent to 1,128.16, the same percentage loss meaning a posting of 1,141.18 for the bank issues. The real-estate stocks slipped .06 percent to 354.86, while the oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,151.96, down .22 percent.
