The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,113.98, up .04 percent, while the TA 100 edged up .03 percent to 1,110.84, tempered by a drop of .11 percent to 1,227.94 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 994.13, up .01 percent.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which rose a quarter of a percent to 321.59, while the biomed issues stood at 872.67, up .23 percent. The insurance stocks were virtually unchanged at 1,397.40 as the financial institutions finished the day down a tenth of a percent at 1,129.36, including a three-tenths-of-a-percent drop to 1,142.43 by the bank index. The real-estate issues closed at 355.09, down .17 percent, while the oil and natural-gas stocks declined .24 percent to 1,154.54, and the communications index stood at 639.95, down .29 percent.
