Shekel Up; US Dollar Down; Yen Outpaces Pound, Euro

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .094 percent, Friday, in mixed trading against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.577, down .473 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .156 percent to 4.754 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.5049 shekels, up .164 percent, while 100 Japanese yen gained .63 percent to 3.6248 shekels. The Australian dollar advanced .703 percent to NIS 3.3216, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.4822 shekels, down .286 percent, and the South African rand climbed .875 percent to NIS .3691.
