Shekel Down; Yen Outpaces Dollars, Euro, Pound

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .255 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.594, while the Euro rose .207 percent to 4.7466 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.4959 shekels, up .036 percent, while 100 Japanese yen climbed .783 percent to NIS 3.6021. The Canadian dollar advanced .287 percent to 3.4922 shekels, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.2984, down .127 percent, and the South African rand slumped 1.375 percent to .3659 shekels.
