South Korean performer Park Jae-sang, better known to the world as Psy, will perform two concerts in Israel this week. Psy is known for his song Gangham Style which is one of the most viewed videos of all time on YouTube with over 1.7 billion views. The song has been covered by countless musicians including a Hebrew version and a election parody version called "Elkin Style" for Likud party candidate MK Zev Elkin. Psy will perform in Tel Aviv on July 25th and in Eilat on the evening on July 27th. Also on stage will be Israeli musicians Ido & Zooki, Tom Davidson, DJ Elon Matana, and others.
Psy is the latest in a series of international performers who have come to Israel. This week Eric Burdon, the lead singer of the legendary British rock band the Animals said he was cancelling a show due to threats from anti-Israel agitators. However the number of musicians who have come to Israel in recent years has far surpassed those who have canceled date.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Subsequent to the publishing of this news brief, it was revealed that the Psy concert did not take place whereas the Eric Burdon concert did in fact take place to a packed audience.
