The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened, Monday morning, with modest gains in mixed trading, following slight losses on Sunday. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,114.32, up .16 percent, with the same percentage increase meaning a posting of 1,228.41 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The TA 100 rose .17 percent to 1,111.64, while the stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 993.87, up .02 percent.
Leading the gainers was the insurance index, which advanced .89 percent to 1,439.04 as the financial institutions stood at 1,151.55, up .12 percent, tempered by a three-tenths-of-a-percent loss to 1,159.71 by the bank issues. The communications stocks stood at 626.72, up .61 percent, while the real-estate index gained .15 percent to 359.36. The biomed issues stood at 879.13, up two tenths of a percent, while the rest of the technology stocks slipped .03 percent to 326.22. The oil and natural-gas index declined .46 percent to 1,142.28.
