Governance Laws to Receive 1st Reading Monday

Proposals by the Yirsael Beyteinu and Yesh Atid parties to change Israel's system of government are scheduled to receive the first of three required readings in the Knesset on Monday.

If they pass, they will be sent to the Knesset Constitution Law and Justice Committee for refinement before the second and third readings. The refinement may include merging the measures into one bill, which would also require a preliminary reading before returning to the committee.
