The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, with modest losses in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,112.53, down .11 percent, while the TA 100 declined .13 percent to 1,109.80, including a .04-percent slip to 1,226.45 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 993.66, up .23 percent.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which rose .61 percent to 1,147.54, followed by the biomed issues, which edged up .01 percent to 877.41, while the rest of the technology stocks fell an average of .99 percent to 326.02. The financial institutions finished the day at 1,150.14, up .01 percent, but the bank component slipped .03 percent to 1,163.22 and the insurance index closed at 1,426.30, down .13 percent. The communications stocks stood at 622.90, down .09 percent, and the real-estate index lost .72 percent to 358.81.
