Venezuela Seeks Apology from US over Power's Remarks

President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela demanded an apology from the United States, Thursday, in light of remarks by Samantha Power, President Barack Obama's nominee to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

During confirmation hearings before the Senate, Power vowed that she would stand against repressive regimes, making it clear she meant countries like Russia, Cuba, Iran and Venezuela.
