The European Union is scheduled to officially announce, Friday, guidelines for restricting funding and other forms of cooperation with Israeli initiatives beyond the 1949 cease-fire line. The guidelines are scheduled to go into effect at the beginning of 2014.
EU sources told Kol Yisrael government radio that consultations with Israel will continue until that time. A diplomatic source in Jerusalem said that efforts will be made to convince EU ministers to claim that publication of the guidelines was not made as originally planned. As a possible to solution to the crisis, the source raised the possibility of keeping the guidelines as is, with a more lenient interpretation in the field.
